Played for Bob Knight at Army. Hired in 1978 at Duke.
Named second team All-NIT (1969). Team captain (1968-69).
National Championships (1991, 1992 and 2001). Nine NCAA Final Fours (1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1999, 2001). Named National Coach of the Year ten times in 7 seasons. 1986-UPI and Chevrolet; 1989-Naismith (National Coach of the Year); 1991-NABC; 1992-Sporting News and Naismith; 1997-Basketball Times; 1999-NABC and Naismith; 2000-Chevrolet.
