BIOGRAPHY:

Michael Irby has had a lifelong obsession with soccer. In fact, as a teen he was such an outstanding player that he played in Europe for Team USA before injuries forced him to give it up.

When Irby's soccer career concluded, he decided to pursue a college education. It was there, that a drama professor gave Irby the confidence to pursue a career in theater.

He immediately began to hone his craft at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Irby's new environment suited him well and by 1999 he put his training to good use with a guest-starring role in two episodes of Law & Order. He has since appeared in a string of successful films including Pinero (2001), The Last Castle (2001), Klepto (2003), and Flightplan (2005) with Jodie Foster.

But the television series that Irby is most known for is The Unit, a thrilling military series costarring Dennis Haysbert,Robert Patrick, Max Martini and Scott Foley. Irby says that the show, has been a joy to work on.

Has a passion for writing poetry, specifically spoken-word. Grabbing the attention of the producers, his original poetry has been incorporated into his storylines. He can be seen performing in various clubs around the Los Angeles area.
Is a avid motorcycle rider who most recently rode in Love Ride 2007, along with his Unit co-stars Max Martini and Robert Patrick.
