- Merrill and wife, Mary, have six children: 'Travis Osmond' (qv), 'Justin Osmond' (qv), Shane, Heather, Troy, and Sheila.
- Grew up as the middle child of nine children, a member of the famous Osmond Family. His entertainment career, as lead singer of the Osmonds, has spanned over 40 years.
- Two of his children appeared in _Side by Side: The True Story of the Osmond Family (1982) (TV)_ (qv), 'Justin Osmond' (qv) as a young version of his brother 'Virl Osmond' (qv) and 'Travis Osmond' (qv) as a young version of his brother 'Tom Osmond (I)' (qv).
- Brother of 'Alan Osmond (I)' (qv), 'Donny Osmond' (qv), 'Jay Osmond' (qv), 'Jimmy Osmond' (qv), 'Wayne Osmond' (qv) 'Virl Osmond' (qv), 'Tom Osmond (I)' (qv) and 'Marie Osmond' (qv). All nine Osmond siblings studied karate under 'Chuck Norris' (qv).
