Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in television journalism.
Son of 'Shirley Povich' (qv).
Owns his own production company, MoPo Productions, Inc.
Has served as President of the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Met his future wife, 'Connie Chung' (qv), in 1968 at the local TV station in Washington, D.C. (WTTN), where she was a secretary and he was an anchorman.
His talk show was distributed by Paramount Pictures Corporation, but is now being distributed by NBC Universal Television Group.
He hosted the TV special _The Michael Jackson Interview: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See (2003) (TV)_ (qv).
Matthew, his son with 'Connie Chung' (qv) is adopted, he also has two adult daughters from a previous marriage.
