- Friend of 'Loretta Lynn' (qv) (her idol), 'Faith Hill' (qv), 'Tim McGraw' (qv), 'Garth Brooks' (qv) and 'Reba McEntire' (qv) (her mentor).
- Syndicated ABC Radio and Fox News Channel Host 'Sean Hannity' (qv) uses her song "Independence Day" to start off his radio show every hour each day.
- Sang the US national anthem at the 2003 basketball NBA All-Star game.
- Inducted as the 77th member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1995 by her idol, 'Loretta Lynn' (qv). Named CMA female vocalist of the year on September 22, 1999.
