TRIVIA:
- Was featured as Rosalia in the original Broadway production of "West Side Story" in 1957. She also appeared in the 1964 revival.
- Won Broadway's 1981 Tony Award as Best Actress (Featured Role - Musical) for "Woman of the Year," a role she recreated in the television version of the same title, _Woman of the Year (1984) (TV)_ (qv).
- She was interred at Mount Judah Cemetery in Ridgewood, Queens, New York.
- Her non-musical stage roles included the female version of "The Odd Couple" and "Broadway Bound".
- Other Broadway musicals included "Brigadoon," "Gypsy" (as Agnes, the leader of the Hollywood Blondes), "I Can Get It for You Wholesale," "Halleluhjah, Baby!", "Mame" (as Agnes Gooch), "Two by Two," Working," "On the Town" (as Lucy Schmeeler), "Ballroom" and the 1994 revival of "Grease".
- Deadpan comedienne who debuted on the Broadway stage in 1956 as a member of the chorus for "Mr. Wonderful".
