Parents Paul (professor) and Janice (High school Teacher) moved to Canada in 1968 - first to Regina, Saskatchewan and then Truro, Nova Scotia.
Elected to the Nova Scotia Legislature for the NDP in June 2009, Truro-Bible Hill riding.
After living in Halifax; Toronto; London, England; Stockholm, Sweden; Vancouver and L.A., she now lives in New York City with her dog Buster Keaton.
