Her father 'Martin Vidnovic' (qv) is an actor. As was mother Linda who is now Laura's vocal coach. Stepfather Sal Benanti is a psychologist.
Won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance as Louise/Gypsy Rose Lee in the Broadway revival of "Gypsy.".
Lived in New York until she was three and then moved to New Jersey where she grew up.
Was twice nominated for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actress (Featured Role - Musical): in 2000 for "Swing!" and in 2002 for a revival of "Into the Woods."
