Was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and an Airborne Ranger.
Splits his time between Durham, North Carolina, where his wife Virginia teaches Yoga, and New York City where his daughter Michele and his amazing grandson Langston reside.
Studied many years with the late Fred Kareman who was his mentor and good friend. Mr. Barber co-founded "Theatre 808" with Jeff LeBeau in Los Angeles in the mid 1990s. "808" was a dedicated group of actors who had studied under Mr. Kareman and were committed to expanding upon the principles and techniques ingrained into them by this Master Teacher.
Graduated from the Actor's Conservatory at Purchase, New York, where Stanley Tucci and Ving Rhames were his classmates.
