- The original "Maggie Campbell" on _"Baby Talk" (1991)_ (qv), a sitcom takeoff on _Look Who's Talking (1989)_ (qv), starring 'Kirstie Alley' (qv). Julia Duffy was the original choice for the role of "Diane Chambers" on _"Cheers" (1982)_ (qv). After losing the part to 'Shelley Long' (qv), Duffy was soon cast in a first season episode as a friend of Diane's named "Rebecca Prout", not to be confused with 'Kirstie Alley' (qv)'s character who replaced "Diane Chambers" as the nemesis/love interest of "Sam Malone", a character also later played by 'Kirstie Alley' (qv).
- Reprised her on screen relationship on _"Newhart" (1982)_ (qv) with 'Peter Scolari' (qv) for 'Jason Alexander (I)' (qv)'s TV show _"Listen Up" (2004)_ (qv).
