- Hard drinking 'Vivien Leigh' (qv) impersonator in San Diego production of "Orson's Shadow".
- Took a 14-year sabbatical from Hollywood, sold her L.A. home and moved to Palm Springs before returning to get the coveted role of scheming "Gloria Fisher Abbott" in _"The Young and the Restless" (1973)_ (qv), replacing actress 'Joan Van Ark' (qv).
- Her father was US Air Force Brigadier General Leland C. Shepard Jr., a pilot who eventually became deputy chief of staff for personnel for the Military Airlift Command.
- Also teaches yoga.
- Younger sister of actress Patty Shepard.
