- Winner of the 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event. Earning him $7.5 million.
- Won the World Series of Poker Main Event while holding the unlikely starting hand of 7cl 3sp. The flop came 6h 5d 4d, giving Hachem a straight. But his opponent Steve Dannenmann, who held Ad 3cl, had an open-ended straight draw. When the turn brought the Ace of Spades, Dannenmann had the top pair and bet, Hachem moved all-in and was called. In the end, Dannenmann could only tie if the river brought a seven. But the 4cl on the river, ensured Hachem the win and the $7.5 million grand prize.
- Won the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Classic in December of 2006, earning him $2,207,575.
- Since he won the World Series of Poker Main event with the hand, 7-3 is now nicknamed "Joe Hachem".
