BIOGRAPHY:

Songwriter ("Just Say I Love Her"), composer, arranger, pianist and violinist, educated at Columbia University, and a pianist in vaudeville who later arranged for the orchestras of Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, and Frankie Carle, and also for George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Al Jolson, and Oscar Hammerstein II. He arranged for network television shows, including the programs of Jackie Gleason, Arthur Godfrey, and Arlene Francis. He also taught at Essex College in Newark, New Jersey. Joining ASCAP in 1942, his popular-song and instrumental compositions include "Blue Silhouette", "Suzanne", "I've Got a Cookie in Kansas", "The Smuggler's Nightmare", "Navy Bounce" and "Russian Dressin'".
