BIOGRAPHY:

Educated at Coleraine Academical Institution (also school of Brian Campbell (II) & Brian McAlister), James had no interest in acting, concentrating on his French studies. It was not until teacher Robert Simpson encouraged him to take an apprenticeship at the local Riverside Theatre that his interest began, eventually leading him to a drama school in London.

• His sister was the school music teacher of 'Jayne Wisener' (qv).
• Children: Peggy and Mary.
• Was offered a major guest part in the David Tennant's First Season of Doctor Who but was not free.

In a 2008 interview with a British television magazine, Nesbitt dismissed the reports, stating that he didn't think he could follow 'Christopher Eccleston' (qv) and 'David Tennant (I)' (qv) and he felt that at the age of 43, he would be considered too old for the part anyway.
