Proposed to his then girlfriend Alex Borstein during a taping of a skit on her television show MadTV.
Ironically, his wife Alex Borstein was originally scheduled to play the character of Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls, the character who would later marry his own character on Gilmore Girls, Jackson Belleville. Borstein had to back out at the last minute because of contractual obligations, and took the minor role of Drella in the first season instead.
Son Barnaby Borstein Douglas was born September 8th, 2008. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 10 oz.
