BIOGRAPHY:

J. Carroll was born in New York City to Catherine Moran and Patrick Sarsfield (not in the business). He was educated at St. Cecillia's Academy, New York City. He had seven years stage experience in Paris and New York. Later in stock company. First screen appearance in 1930. Fox brought him to Hollywood.

TRIVIA:

Although of Irish ancestry, it is believed he never played a charactor of that type.
He portrayed Dr. Daka, the first villain to go up against the Batman on the silver screen, in the serial "The Batman" (1943).
Hobbies: writing, singing, cooking, tennis and golf.
Best known for playing Latin, Arab, and East Indian characters.
