BIOGRAPHY:

He was born into show business in 1947, the son of Los Angeles television and radio personality Larry Finley and the cousin of writer/producer Rod Serling, and one would think that at the age of fifty-seven, Finley would be content being a top Hollywood theatrical voice-over artist. After all, he has worked on over two thousand movies and television programs with some of the greatest directors to ever step behind a camera. But, now Greg is writing.

After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, Finley went into the Army where he rose to the rank of Captain and spent eighteen months in Vietnam in Special Forces. After his military service, he married a widow with four daughters and settled into his life as a father supporting the family by selling automobiles in northern California. Two years later, his son Guy was born. Just a few years after that, the marriage dissolved and he moved back to the southland to pursue his dreams of being a successful actor.

Working as a day player in the late 70s and early 80s, Finley's writing career began in 1981 as a writer/director on the syndicated animated television series, "Robotech" (1985). He remarried in 1982, and in 1983, about the time his voice-over career blossomed, another son, Garrett, was born. Twenty years later, after writing literally hundreds of news broadcasts, commercials, sports announcements as part of his voice-over work, he wrote a children's book titled, "Puppy's First Christmas." While waiting for a publisher to buy his first book effort, Greg happened across a web site that sold script-writing software. He bought the software and began the task of converting his kid's novel into a screenplay.

After an agent showed interest in his first script effort, Greg decided to write about the characters he met while selling cars in the 1970s. When that script was finished, he wrote a cop-thriller using the research (and and some experiences) he got as a reserve Police Officer with the City of San Fernando in 1991 and 1992. By now, Finley's desire to write was even greater than his desire to play golf.

Greg's last few efforts may have been written while channeling his late relative who created "The Twilight Zone". After writing a youth-fantasy Sci-fi thriller about a twelve-year-old boy with Alien next-door neighbors, and a dark comedy about a man who receives miraculous luck but dies and passes it on to anyone who touches his body, he wrote a military/Sci-fi/romance script featuring a strong female lead.

Active as a director in local Community Theater, still in love after twenty-two years of marriage to his wife Patti, still close to all of his children, and still working as a voice-over actor, Greg Finley is currently finishing a new script and developing ideas for others, as his love of writing takes him down a new and exciting career path.
