He is an Oneida Indian.
(21 March 1997) Hospitalised after standoff with police. Agreed to undergo psychiatric evaluation. No charges will be made.
Awarded honorary doctor of law degree in June 2008, from Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario Canada, close to the Oneida reserve where he is from.
