BIOGRAPHY: A stage and screen actor of extreme versatility, Frank Langella won acclaim on the New York stage in "Seascape" and followed it up with the title role in the Edward Gorey production of "Dracula." He repeated the role for the screen in Dracula (1979) and became an international star. Over the years he has done occasional films but prefers to concentrate n his first love, the legitimate theatre. His stage performance ranged from Strindberg drama ("The Father") to Noel Coward comedy ("Present Laughter"). He also appeared in several productions for the New York Shakespeare festival.

- Along with 'Christopher Lee (I)' (qv) and 'Richard Roxburgh' (qv), one of the few actors to play both Dracula and Sherlock Holmes.
- Has twice won Broadway's Tony Award: as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Dramatic), in 1975 for 'Edward Albee' (qv)'s "Seascape," and as Best Actor (Featured Role - Play), in 2002 for "Fortune's Fool." He was also nominted for the Tony two other times as Best Actor (Play): in 1978 for "Dracula," a role he recreated with a different script in the film, _Dracula (1979)_ (qv), and in 2004 for "Match."
- Italian-American.
- Lived with actress/comedian 'Whoopi Goldberg' (qv) (separated in March 2001).
- He and 'Anthony Hopkins' (qv) both received Oscar-nominations for portraying 'Richard Nixon' (qv). Hopkins is one day older than him, born on December 31, 1937.
