Although she was a serious dancer through out her life, she always knew she wanted to act. One summer vacation with her family during college, she met David Tang. David is a well-known Chinese philanthropist who strongly encouraged her to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dream.
Her true acting debut occurred her freshman year in a college. She performed the role of MacDuff's son in MacBeth. Although the reviews were not very kind to the production, they did note Flynn as having one of the strongest performances.
She decided she wanted to be a (petite) model upon her return from France. At 16 years old she walked into one of the top agencies in San Francisco, who took her on the spot and she booked her first go-see without a portfolio or comp card for Macy's catalog. She later turned down the opportunity to model in Japan because she did not want to be away from her friends and family.
Spent her sophomore year of high school living in Nice, France. She was placed in "troisieme" at private French school. She speaks French fluently.
