Probably best known for his portrayal of "Mr. Whipple" for 25 years in Charmin commercials.
Became a comic dancer in vaudeville before enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force early in World War II and serving as a fighter pilot against the German Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
Moved to the United States after the war and became an American citizen in 1954.
He studied sculpture and graduated from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto.
Father of Stuart, Wendy, and actress 'Melanie Wilson (I)' (qv). Grandfather of three.
In appreciation for his over 500 performances of the highly recognizable Mr. Whipple character, Procter & Gamble provided Wilson with a free lifetime supply of Charmin toilet tissue.
Served in the Royal Canadian Airforce in WWII.
Born in England to a vaudeville entertainer and a singer. Moved to Canada, as a child.
