- Played the original "Flo" - later made famous by 'Polly Holliday' (qv) in the sitcom _"Alice" (1976)_ (qv) - in the motion picture _Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974)_ (qv) and then played Flo's replacement, Belle, on the sitcom.
- Had two daughters by ex-husband 'Bruce Dern' (qv). Her first daughter, born in 1961, accidentally drowned at the age of 18 months, years before second daughter, 'Laura Dern' (qv), was born in 1967.
