BIOGRAPHY: Devon Werkheiser is ready to rise to the top and capture some hearts along the way. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, this southern heartthrob grew up with his father, a commercial real estate executive; his stay-at-home mother; and older sister, Vanessa. His parents knew Devon had a gift at the age of six when he began doing impressions of Jim Carrey from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994). All righty, then!
His parents enrolled him in acting classes at Atlanta's community children's theater at the Talent Factory, where Devon excelled in the lead roles in such plays as "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "Halloween at Boo Castle." After four years at the top of the Theater Factory, Devon appeared alongside Charles Barkley in a commercial for the NBA.
At the age of 10, Devon appeared in his first blockbuster, We Were Soldiers (2002), as Mel Gibson (I)'s son. After working with one of Hollywood's most famous actor-directors, Devon and his mother packed their things and headed for Hollywood to score more roles--and he did. Before long, he booked a role with John Larroquette and Lesley Ann Warren in the independent film Recipe for Disaster (2003) (TV). Although he had already accomplished so much, Devon was in for the real clincher when he scored the lead role in Nickelodeon's "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" (2004).
When Devon isn't acting or being a straight-A student, he enjoys playing hockey, singing and dancing (anything but country), playing the guitar, and hanging out with his friends and family.
