BIOGRAPHY: Dawn Stern was born on a military base outside of Tokyo, Japan and raised in a small Midwestern town. An unabashedly self-proclaimed 'love child', she owes her exotic physical appearance to her parents; a Scottish/ Norwegian mother and an African/French/Native American father. As an outsider, she turned to books and poetry and her first love was Shakespeare. She has a B.S. degree in Theatre Performance and a B. S. in Broadcast Communications from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Her first professional gig came during her senior year when a St. Louis agent saw her in a college production and cast her in a AFTRA commercial. She earned her Equity card by touring for 9 months with the Imaginary Theatre Company, the children's theater extension of The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. In search of growth and change and a SAG card, Dawn moved to Chicago. There she became a sort-of jack of all trades doing commercials, industrials, trade shows, runway, print work etc. which helped her develop a well rounded professional work ethic. While in Chicago Dawn was chosen to be one of 9 finalist for Revelon's Most Unforgettable Women Campaign and also an 11 time winner of Ed McMahon's Star Search. After earning her SAG card, Dawn moved to Los Angeles and within 6 weeks was cast in her first series regular role. Dawn was cast as a series regular on Starhunter 2300 playing the role of Callista Larkadia an uncompromising weapons expert bounty hunter. She has also been cast in over 30 television guest starring roles the last being for the NBC show LAS VEGAS. She has done 6 pilots and the last one for ABC Family was NOBODY (Kevin Murphy) where she played the lead and was directed by Jeff Woolnough. Dawn keeps busy touring nationally with Will & Company's A Pebble In My Shoe playing 37 different characters including a Nigerian Bishop and has received rave reviews as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and as Kate in Shakespeare Santa Monica's Taming of The Shrew. Dawn is an avid athlete and has studied Tai Kwan Do and Yoga and loves to snowboard and surf.
