Travelled the roads of Iowa with his brother David and their comedy troupe "Don't Quit Your Day Job", where they played at hotels and restaurants.
Fan of 'Buster Keaton' (qv), 'Stan Laurel' (qv) and 'Oliver Hardy' (qv).
Moved to California with his two brothers in 1985
Studied liberal arts at the University of Iowa for a year, before realizing that performance was his passion and he chose to drop out.
Graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, the same school that Cloris Leachman graduated from.
Stepfather of Gabe and Janie
Visits Des Moines, Iowa three times a year for Christmas and to appear on the Variety Club Telethon in March.
