BIOGRAPHY: Marino was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he became the most prolific and celebrated passer in Pitt Panther history and a first-round draft pick for Don Shula of the Dolphins. Marino has established a record number of records on the All-Time Quarterback list, does charity work, and created the Dan Marino Foundation to benefit the youth charities of South Florida.
TRIVIA:
- Was selected 27th (next to last in the first round) in the 1983 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. Seven quarterbacks were drafted in the first round that year, Marino being the last.
- Eldest of 3 children and the only boy.
- Ranks 11th on NFL All-Time Passer Rating List (86.38).
- All-Time NFL Leader in Pass Completions (4,967).
- Children: Daniel Charles (b. 4 September 1986), Michael Joseph (b. 18 May 1988), Joseph Donald (b. 26 July 1989) and Alexandra Claire (b. 13 May 1992). He also has 2 adopted daughters, Niki Lin (b. 15 December 1996 in China)and Lia (b. 12 July 1995 in China)
