Claire Catherine Danes is an American actress of television, stage, and film. She has appeared in roles such as Angela Chase in My So-Called Life, as Juliet in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, as Cosette.

• Has an older brother, Asa.
• Flew to L.A. for the casting of _Schindler's List (1993)_ (qv), after she was discovered for the role in _"My So-Called Life" (1994)_ (qv). 'Steven Spielberg' (qv) finally gave her the role but had to turn it down, because they weren't willing to give her tutoring in Poland.
