BIOGRAPHY: Benoit has trained in Stu Hart's "Dungeon". He has wrestled in such places as Canada, the U.S., Japan, Mexico and Germany. Benoit has held the WCW Tag Team title and Television title (his TV title reign was never acknowledged on TV) At his level of experience and natural skill Benoit should be the World Champ and in main events throughout the country. His hometown is in Edmonton, Alberta but he's usually wresting in the States. Benoit was without a doubt one of Canada's finest wrestlers.
TRIVIA:
- Had a son David from a previous relationship, and a daughter Megan from his ex-wife.
- Entrance music was 'Whatever' by Our Lady Peace.
- Played football in high school as defensive end.
- Wrestled in Japan under a mask as The Pegasus Kid. After losing to Jushin "Thunder" Liger in a match, he unmasked himself as part of the stipulation. Shortly afterwards, he called himself Wild Pegasus.
- Lost a tooth when he was pretending to wrestle with his dog as a kid. The dogs face hit him on the jaw, which knocked the tooth out. He never had a tooth inserted, because he though he would lose it again, when he started his wrestling-career.
- Because of how often he defended his WWF Intercontinental Title, Chris Benoit has been called the "fightingest" Interconinental Champion in WWF history.
- Underwent major neck surgery in July 2001 after a wrestling match with "X-Pac" where he suffered a botched "X-Factor."
- He joined the WWF in January 2000, as a member of the Radicalz with Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko. He became the Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania 2000.
