BIOGRAPHY: Chase Masterson (born February 26, 1963 in Colorado Springs) is perhaps best known as the beloved character "Leeta" on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Ivy Lief" on "General Hospital."
Recently, Masterson was named one of the "Hot Leading Ladies" of Film 2008 by "Film Fetish," one of the "50 Sexiest Women" by "Femme Fatales Magazine," the "#1 Favorite Science Fiction Actress on Television" by "TV Guide's" online reader's poll, and one of the "Top 20 People to Watch in Hollywood" by "Sci-Fi Universe Magazine."
Prominent film roles include "Janice" in "Robotech: the Shadow Chronicles" and the "Singer" in "Yesterday Was a Lie."
Masterson hosted a news program for the Sci Fi Channel in the 1990s and an Internet-based radio talk show for the website The Fandom in 2004-2005. She is also a singer of jazz/torch songs who has released an album entitled "Thrill of the Chase," the follow-up EP "Ad Astra!" (Latin for "To the Stars!"), and the limited edition "Crystal Anniversary: Songs From the Holosuite" (in honor of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's" fifteenth anniversary).
Following a series of stalking incidents instigated by a man in Berlin, Masterson was the plaintiff in a controversial legal case in which the courts unfortunately ruled against her and expanded the definition of "interactive computer services" under the Communications Decency Act.
She was named "Best Feature Film Producer of 2008" by the LA Femme Film Festival for her work on "Yesterday Was a Lie."

- Is good friends with actor 'Jonathan Del Arco' (qv), who recommended Chase to audition for _"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993)_ (qv). He felt that she would make a good Bajoran alien.
- Originally auditioned for the role of "Marta", Jake Sisko's Bajoran girlfriend, on _"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993)_ (qv). She was one of two actresses up for the part but lost out because she was considered a bit too attractive. The role of Leeta, a dabo girl, was written with her in mind, even though she still had to audition for the role.
