  • Composed the Alma Matter for a Pinecrest Schools in Southern California.
  • Father of Cynnie & Ronne (by first marriage), Stacy & Lisa (by wife 'Julie London' (qv)'s marriage to 'Jack Webb (I)' (qv)), Kelly, Jody & Reese (twins) (by 'Julie London' (qv)).
  • Wrote the song Route 66, a hit for 'Nat 'King' Cole' (qv) in 1946. 'Chuck Berry (I)' (qv) covered it as did the Rolling Stones on their first album and many others since.
  • Served in the Marine Corps during World War II as a captain.
  • Father of 'Kelly Troup' (qv), 'Cynnie Troup' (qv) and 'Ronne Troup' (qv).
