- French-born restaurateur who has spent most of his life based in the UK, opening his first restaurant there in 1967. His younger brother is also a well-known chef 'Michel Roux (II)' (qv). The brothers have helped to train other famous chefs, such as 'Marco Pierre White' (qv). Their restaurant was the first in the UK to receive 3 Michelin stars. His son Michel Roux Jr. has also followed in his footsteps.
