Dear Oprah: I'd like to be on the cover of O too (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
ODear Oprah:

I saw that cover of the December issue of O magazine that was revealed today. Congrats to Ellen DeGeneres. She's been campaigning to get on the cover since last March, and it's good to see her goal become a reality. It proves that even regular folks with a daily daytime talk show and a million Twitter followers can realize their dreams too!

I'm not sure if this is the right venue for this, but I'll just come out and ask: can I be on your cover too? I don't have to be paid for it and you can dress me up any way that you like. I just want the honor of being on the cover with you.

Project Runway Rundown: Did Gordana Deserve to Go? (TVGuide) - 1 day ago

Project Runway | Photo Credits: My Lifetime.com

This week on Project Runway, the final five had to create a design inspired by the J. Paul Getty Museum. But since it's the last challenge before Bryant Park Fashion Week, two designers were eliminated.

Video: Project Runway's Logan explains his "bond" with Carol Hannah

Tension ran high as the designers put all their energy into a final look. As usual, "Meana Irina" made cutting comments and Christopher covered his face with his palms and wept softly.

Check out why Chris March thinks this week's Runway was unfair after the jump.

What You Missed Last Night: Conan apologizes to Levi (TVSquad) - 1 day ago

Legend of the Seekers' two-hour season premiere event (Saturday, Nov. 7, check local listings) is fast approaching, and stars Bridget Regan and Craig Horner stopped by TVGuide.com to tell us all where the action picks up. Pretty much the entire underworld has its sights set on Richard and Kahlan after a tear was created between the worlds of the living and the dead. "It's hell on earth — literally," Horner says. Regan and Horner also dish on Charisma Carpenter's (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) guest gig as a high ranking Mord'Sith who shares a same-sex smooch. "It's a pretty sexy season," says Regan.

Leno Weekly: Paranormal Activity, 2012, Rachael Ray and more! (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
The Wanda Sykes ShowGood news, everyone! The Jay Leno Show was funny this week. There were some funny guests, genuinely funny comedy correspondent moments, and another Real Housewives quiz show, this time with the ladies from Atlanta.

Jay even managed to get a quick jab in to the bosses at NBC during an archery "Earn Your Plug" with Wanda Sykes. "This is NBC," he said to her. "I'm used to getting shot in the back." I've grown to respect Leno during his 10 o'clock experiment. He's a trouper doing what NBC is paying him to do, but you can tell he thinks the whole situation's about as screwed up as we do.

Even better, there were only two "10 @ 10" segments and no "Green Car Challenge" races, which allowed for more room to bring on Frank Calliendo and Sebastian Maniscalco to do stand-up routines. This is what I was expecting Leno to be doing, showcasing comedy rather than driving around a track trying not to hit Al Gore.

Wanda Sykes on The Wanda Sykes Show: No Celebs are Safe (TVGuide) - 1 day ago

Wanda Sykes | Photo Credits: Roger Erickson/Fox

Not only is Wanda Sykes joining the predominately male landscape of late-night talk show hosts, her Fox show is kicking off when that landscape is getting a bit more crowded -- George Lopez's talkfest debuts two nights later on TBS and The Mo'Nique Show recently began on BET. Sykes, 45, doesn't seem to be worried about that, though; she's just excited to bring...

Review: The Vampire Diaries - 162 Candles (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
The Vampire Diaries: 162 Candles
(S01E08) "It's not every day a guy turns 162 years old." - Lexi to Stefan on his birthday

What?! Nooooo! They keep bringing in these great characters and then killing them off! Hopefully, they're just stashing the bodies somewhere for a mass resurrection at some point. And, by the way, I totally did not see that coming.

The Vampire Diaries started out great and continues to get better each week. It's so beautifully dark and gloomy. I love the Salvatore's gothic digs, and Stefan is showing considerable restraint at not offing his bad, bad brother Damon.

Guess who took this photo of Sean Hannity (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
Hannity
This is a picture of FOX News host Sean Hannity at the Yankees/Phillies game the other night (congratulations Yankees, blah, blah, etc). Ordinarily this wouldn't be a big deal, but it's who's taking the picture that makes it interesting. It's...Keith Olbermann! And Hannity is taking a picture of him, as the photo shows. No, they're not going to use the photos in some court case against each other, they actually get along (well, at the ball game anyway -- America's pastime!).

Golden Girl Rue McClanahan Doing Well After Heart Surgery (TVGuide) - 1 day ago

Rue McClanahan | Photo Credits: Stephen Lovekin/WireImage.com

Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan is doing well after undergoing a cardial bypass, according to the actress' rep.

"She is doing absolutely great," McClanahan's rep told Access Hollywood. "She went for her physical the other day and her doctor didn't like what he found.... She was in great spirits when she went in for surgery yesterday. She's resting in a hospital in [New York] and she'll probably be out in a week."

The unexpected surgery forced McClanahan to cancel her appearance at a Nov. 14 tribute event in San Francisco. "My darlings, I'm just devastated that I am going to have to miss my own tribute at the Castro Theatre," McClanahan said in a statement to The Advocate, which first reported her hospitalization. "Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law, and I'm currently having some maintenance on the old ticker. Trust me, I'd much rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you."

The event may be rescheduled...

J.J. Abrams, the creator of Alias, Felicity, Lost and Fringe, will slide back into the director's chair for Undercovers, a new NBC pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

NBC wins bidding war for J.J. Abrams' new series

Abrams, who is also executive-producing the married spies project, hasn't directed a TV pilot since the blockbuster, two-hour opening salvo of Lost in 2004. About a year later, he segued into directing such films as Mission: Impossible III and the Star Trek reboot.

Abrams' other TV directing credits include a 2007 episode of The Office and an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2006...

Review: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - Paddy's Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
kitten mittens
(S05E08)
Yes! Finally. The moment we've all been waiting for. Ever since the season five promos first aired, I have been eagerly anticipating some sort of context for Charlie's uncontrollable eyebrows and the ridiculous Kitten Mittens (or Kitten Mittons, as it were). Seeing the ad in full certainly didn't disappoint, though I wish we could have seen more Kitten Mittons throughout the episode. Admittedly, thirty-some minutes of cats struggling in booties probably doesn't sound like a hot idea, but, hey, animal humor has sustained many a clip show.

Plus, I heart over-enthusiastic Charlie.

The erotic haikus of Jack Donaghy's assistant (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
The poetry posts continue. OK, specifically, it's haikus this time. Jonathan, Jack Donaghy's assistant on 30 Rock, has always had a crush on his boss (remember the episode where he made the collage after Jack was demoted?), and in this web exclusive we find out how deep his feelings go. Love the Bluetooth while he's performing.

By the way, have you noticed that Jack has had a few different assistants over the past few seasons?

Golden Girls update: Betty White and Rue McClanahan make news (TVSquad) - 1 day ago
Betty_White_Rue_McClanahan_duoThere's some good news and some bad about The Golden Girls. First the good: Betty White will be returning to The Bold and the Beautiful to resume her recurring role as Stephanie's mother, Ann Douglas. She'll be appearing on a few episodes of B&B, but it could be extended even longer depending on storyline developments.

Sadly, the bad news is that Betty's Golden Girls costar, Rue McClanahan had to cancel a Castro Theater event in San Francisco on November 14 -- a salute in her honor called "Golden: A Gala Tribute to Rue McClanahan" -- because she's had to undergo heart bypass surgery in New York.

"Gettin' Rid of Britta" - the music video (TVSquad) - 2 days ago
Leave it to the folks behind Community to go the extra mile for a joke. Last night's episode featured Britta's small-nippled ex, Vaughn, singing a song about what a B Britta is. First of all, I love it when anyone on TV calls someone a "B," because it always makes me think of Arrested Development ("Don't call mother a 'B,' Michael!"), and secondly, having Pierce on keyboards and backup vocals singing about how Britta is a "GD B," is just hilarious.

My sister has a friend named Britta, so anytime there's any Britta hate on Community, we harass her on her Facebook profile with clips. Because maturity is my middle name. So enjoy this video and bask in the glory of more of Vaughn's tortured rhyme schemes. Sample lyric: "I wouldn't strangle her, but I would sell her to the highest bidder." It even becomes a singalong at the end!

Fear this: Dan Aykroyd as Yogi Bear (TVSquad) - 2 days ago
Yogi Bear and friendsI could make another joke about how Hollywood is out of ideas, but why bother? However, as further proof of the concept, a live-action/CGI Yogi Bear movie is in the works based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon from way back when. Dan Aykroyd will be lending his voice for Yogi and Justin Timberlake will be the voice of Boo Boo. Did anyone else just feel a cold shiver down their spine?

Anna Faris will also be in the movie as a documentary filmmaker. I like Anna Faris even when she's in crap movies, but I don't think her presence is going to make me like this one.

I'm sorry to say that this movie will likely do well and the kids will eat up. Look at Hollywood's history of similar movies (most of which have actually spawned sequels): The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Scooby Doo ... the list goes on.

So what do you think of this idea?

Mad Men's Rich Sommer Discusses His Law & Order Guest Spot (TVGuide) - 2 days ago

Rich Sommer | Photo Credits: AMC

It's going to be a busy weekend for Mad Men star Rich Sommer.

Before the AMC drama wraps up its third season Sunday night (10/9c), Sommer will appear in a ripped-from-the-headlines episode of Law & Order (Friday at 8/7c on NBC). "The episode is sort of inspired by the woman who drove the wrong way down the Taconic [Expressway]," Sommer tells TVGuide.com. "I play her boss, and after some investigating, they begin to suspect him a little bit, that somehow he may have been involved."

Check out photos of the Law & Order cast

Although the role sounds significantly darker than Harry Crane, the bumbling nice guy he plays on Mad Men, Sommer says the two characters have more in common that one might expect...

TNT snags The Mentalist ... in syndication (TVSquad) - 2 days ago
Jane_Lisbon_the_MentalistDid the USA Network decide not to buy the Simon Baker series The Mentalist for syndication because it would conflict with their own psychic detective show Psych?

You have to wonder, because The Mentalist has been snatched up by TNT in a lush syndication deal. How lush? About $2 million per episode, a broadcast series record. (The overall record is HBO's The Sopranos going to A&E for $2.5 per episode.)
