Castle might have ended the fifth season with our favorite couple in rocky waters, but the most surprising thing about this season might just have been how smooth the sailing has been for Castle and Beckett. In season five, Castle pulled the most shocking move a show built on a central will-they-won't-they couple can: it put the main duo in a healthy, happy relationship.

Brenna Weingus: Who Will Win? (TVSquad) - 5 days ago

It's been a long road but the "American Idol" finale is finally here. With country singer Kree Harrison and the soulful Candice Glover as the only two remaining contestants, the competition is as close as it's ever been. Each girl performed three times: first they sang a song selected by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, then they sang the original song that would become a single should they win, and finally, they singing their favorite song of the season. With minimal commentary from the judges, the night emphasized each girl's individual strengths, allowing both to truly shine. Still, there can only be one winner. So who will take home the title of "American Idol" tomorrow night? And who will place in a close second?

Kree started off the night with an elegant performance of "Angel," selected by Simon Fuller. Kree kept her rendition simple, letting her authentic country/bluesy twang do the work for her.

Simon chose "Chasing Pavements" for Candice. Singing with restraint while still managing to insert an insane number of runs with ease, the song perfectly suited her.

"I'm so proud to have been part of this season. This talent is so magnificent," Mariah said after the girls performed. Randy agreed that both girls delivered, but gave the edge to Candice for round one.

Next each girl got a chance to sing an original song, which will become their first single if they win tomorrow night. Kree's song, "All Cried Out," showcased a more soulful, emotional side of her. Candice's song, titled "I Am Beautiful," had a strong message of self-empowerment and she sang each word with conviction. Both girls received standing ovations from the judges. Nicki and Keith loved both performances, but Keith declared Kree the winner of the round and Nicki chose Candice.

Kree selected Dolly Parton's "Up to the Mountain" as her favorite song of the season. The uplifting performance brought the judges and audience alike to their feet, with Mariah calling it something special and Randy declaring it to be her best performance of the night. Nicki told her that all three of her performances had showcased her beautiful voice and her beautiful soul.

Candice ended the night with her favorite song of the season, "I Who Have Nothing". The powerhouse performance received a round of standing ovations and roaring applause. With Nicki calling her a superstar and Mariah telling her that her talent was undeniable, Candice was clearly in it to win.

'Nashville': Jolene Makes Big Move To Protect Juliette (TVSquad) - 5 days ago

Jolene stepped up to try and be the mother she'd always failed to be for Juliette on "Nashville." But since she's kind of a mess, her approach was kind of a mess. But she was determined to protect her little girl from the growing problem that Dante was becoming.

He'd demanded $2 million to hand over the SD card with the sex tape he'd made, but then changed his mind and upped it to $10 million. So Juliette decided to go public and take ownership of the tape before he could do it. She was going to sabotage her own image to stop him, but Jolene didn't want to see this.

So she lured Dante to her place and pulled a gun on him. "Don't be stupid, Jolene,” Dante said, clearly underestimating her resolve. Or perhaps he didn't realize she'd been using drugs and alcohol to steel her nerve for what she needed to do.

Even so, it didn't look like she was prepared for the aftermath of the moment. She shot and killed Dante, thus solving one problem for Juliette, while possibly opening another. She did get a hold of Juliette in time to stop her announcement, but by the time her daughter got home, Jolene had overdosed and died.

TVLine was shaken by Juliette's blood-curdling scream, while Buddy TV felt bad for her. “While Jolene thought she was protecting her daughter, she really made matters worse," they wrote. "Now, at least the story of the video will get out. Juliette will have to suffer the guilt of losing her mother and be truly alone in the world. The poor girl has no one left now.”

For now, though, the media is calling it a murder-suicide, so perhaps the larger story about the sex tape won't get out. If it's chalked up to a drug or alcohol induced crime of passion, there may be no need to look deeper. Of course, there is that woman Dante was traveling and hustling with. She could always turn up with another copy, or just looking for Dante -- or revenge.

Next week, it's the season finale of "Nashville," Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

'Arrow': Someone Dies As Oliver Tries To Save The Glades (TVSquad) - 5 days ago

It had been building all season, and on the "Arrow" season finale, Oliver faced off against Malcolm Merlyn for the last time. While Felicity helped Detective Lance disable the device Merlyn intended to use to destroy The Glades neighborhood in Starling City, Oliver and Malcolm were fighting it out on a rooftop.

Unfortunately, while Oliver was able to dispatch Merlyn, and Det. Lance was able to disable the device, Merlyn had one final trick up his sleeve. He had a redundancy that he revealed just before he died. And with that, The bombs went off, triggering a seismic reaction that destroyed The Glades.

Laurel was there, but was saved by Tommy. Unfortunately, the building collapsed even further and Tommy was impaled. Oliver arrived just in time to tell Tommy that he'd successfully saved Laurel. And Tommy could apologize for not believing Oliver's warnings about his father.

“As heartbroken as I am that Tommy won't be around for Arrow season 2, his death was good for the story," Buddy TV said. "His death will be another reason for Oliver to fight to save the city. It could also compel Laurel into action.” Entertainment Weekly thought Tommy's demise was a real contender to take "Best Death" in its annual Season Finale Awards.

It was a give and take for Kunal Nayyar on last week's The Big Bang Theory.

The guys (and later girls) played a hilarious and ultimately revealing game of Dungeons & Dragons, except Raj (Nayyar) wasn't part of it. Instead, he bailed for a date with his equally, if not more, socially awkward love interest Lucy (Kate Micucci), whom he ended up kissing through a chain-link fence.

VIDEO: Get an Early Look at Robin Williams’ Return to TV and More New CBS Shows (TVGuide) - 5 days ago
Why They Went 'Crazy' (TVSquad) - 5 days ago

"The Crazy Ones" marks Robin Williams' return to series TV, his first regular gig since "Mork & Mindy" in the late 1970s. The new CBS series also marks Sarah Michelle Gellar's first half-hour TV comedy. The two are joined by co-stars James Wolk, Hamish Linklater, Amanda Setton and Kelly Clarkson appears in the pilot episode.

"The girl can act," Gellar said of Clarkson on CBS's Upfront 2013 red carpet.

"The group of people we have on this show is pretty wild ... They can go one-on-one so it's not like all you riffing. There's a lot of people doing great stuff backing it up. The writing is really great," Williams said.

In the series from David E. Kelley ("Chicago Hope," "The Practice" & "Ally McBeal"), Williams plays ad executive Simon Roberts, who's known for his unique way of thinking. Gellar plays his daughter, Sydney, a fellow executive at the firm.

What drew you to "The Crazy Ones" as your return to TV?
Robin Williams: Initially the script, and then all the people. Working with the people has been amazing.
Sarah Michelle Gellar: I get to be on television with Robin freaking Williams. I mean, hello! I didn't need anything else. And they pay me too, which is great.
Williams: Yeah, and the checks will clear because it's CBS.
Gellar: Yes, exactly!

Sarah, had you been looking for a comedy?
Gellar: Ultimately that is what I wanted to do. To me, some of the greatest parts of "Buffy" were the funny moments. You get to a point where it's like, "You know what? I've cried a lot. I'm ready to be funny."

Why are Sydney and Simon "The Crazy Ones"?
Williams: Literally, it's based on an Apple ad [from] years ago, the one that said, "Here's to the crazy ones." They didn't even have a product. They were just selling the idea of innovation and that's kind of the idea [of the show]. I'm kind of [playing] the idea guy. He's been on everything but skates. He's kind of crazy. When I watched a documentary about [ad] guys -- a lot of them, they live on the edge. All their ideas are outside the envelope, but at the same time, they get the simplest, purest image you can and go primal and in many cases, can go right for our consciousness. So that's what they're doing. [Gellar's] character is basically there to draw the line [while] I'll cross the line.

Sarah, are you the straight man in this dynamic duo?
Williams: Not at all.
Gellar: Hey, you know what? I would be the straight man to him any day. And I would be honored.
Williams: That's a loaded question.
Gellar: Yeah, sorry, I didn't get --
Williams: No, no. It's too late.
Gellar: Too far?
Williams: It's too late. That's the next movie.
Gellar: Just don't tell my husband, OK?

Robin, I loved your Kim Kardashian tweet.
Williams: Thank you! It was literally a response. A friend sent this picture and I said I did [think Mrs. Doubtfire wore it better].
Gellar: I say Robin.
Williams: It's really interesting to wear a couch. When I saw that floral pattern I said, "WOW!" [In "Mrs. Doubtfire" voice] Oh dear, I would know.
Gellar: Was it scotch-guarded too?
Williams: No. Oh God, it was scary. The number of tweets that hit after that and it was just me responding.

Did you like that it was single camera?
Williams: I love that it's a single camera.
Gellar: Well, there's a single camera, which is the Robin camera.
Williams: I have my own.
Gellar: Then there's the camera getting everyone else.
Williams: At home too. It's this weird thing -- it's mounted right here. [Motions to chest.] What is this? Me? The me network?
Gellar: I would watch it, by the way.
Williams: It'd be way beyond an upfront.

"The Crazy Ones" airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. this fall on CBS.
