Levi Johnston and 9 Other Celebrities We'd Like to See on DWTS (BuddyTV) - 4 days ago
Genereal_Platt.jpgWith season 10 of Dancing With the Stars fast arriving, it's the perfect time to think of the celebrities, singers, and pseudo-celebrities a like who could regain and retain the lime-light with a little sequined shimmy across the dance floor. As a long time viewers of DWTS, we know the most successful contestants come in five flavors: athletes, people trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame, political figures, has-been TV and movie stars, and "musicians." (Yes, the inclusion of Aaron Carter as a musician last season made those quotation marks necessary.)

These are the "stars" (yes, every season of Dancing with the Stars make those quotation marks necessary) we'd be most excited to see on the tenth season of DWTS.

Wink Martindale to Host 'Instant Recall' on GSN Starting March 4 (TVSquad) - 4 days ago
Instant RecallFirst, to all of you younger people out there, yes there is someone with the awesome name "Wink Martindale" in the world (he also has a site with the equally awesome name Wink's World). He's hosted a bunch of game shows over the years and now he's going to host another one. The new GSN show 'Instant Recall' starts on March 4.

'Instant Recall' is a hidden camera game show. The contestant has to go through a series of tasks (which we'll see via that hidden camera) and when they are done they have to answer a bunch of questions about what they did to see how good their memories are. I just hope it doesn't have all of that so-called suspenseful lighting and lame commercial breaks like a lot of game shows seem to have now.

Martindale hasn't hosted a game show in over twelve years, so it's going to be good to see him back. If you're not familiar with his work, check out the videos after the jump.

Will ABC Let Adam Lambert Into the Oscars? (TVSquad) - 4 days ago
adam lambert amas
The Adam Lambert/ABC controversy is one of those things that makes zero sense to me. If you recall, after Lambert kissed a dude and briefly simulated oral sex with someone in his band on the American Music Awards, ABC freaked out and started banning him from their shows, canceling appearances on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' and 'Good Morning America,' apparently fearing that the 'American Idol' runner-up wouldn't be able to refrain from nibbling George Stephanopoulos' ear at 7:30 AM. What I don't get is why this is such a big deal: it's as if ABC is operating in a world in which Lady Gaga and her antics don't exist.

Now the big Lambert news is that he may be attending the Oscars, which is airing March 7 on ABC. As Lambert isn't in the film industry, this makes little sense-- except that he may be attending the ceremony with longtime friend Anna Kendrick, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her turn in the George Clooney film, 'Up In The Air.'

NBC's Black History Month Lunch: Fried Chicken, Collard Greens (TVGuide) - 4 days ago

NBC, Black History Month cafeteria menu | Photo Credits: courtesy Questlove

NBC apologized for and removed a sign in a network cafeteria listing a special Black History Month menu that included fried chicken, collard greens and jalapeno cornbread.

The sign, posted at network headquarters in New York, was photographed and tweeted by Questlove — the drummer for Jimmy Fallon's house band, the Roots, on Late Night — with an accompanying tweet saying...

Sarah Chalke Cast as ABC's 'Freshman' (TVSquad) - 4 days ago
Sarah ChalkeI had no idea that Arianna Huffington was also producing TV shows along with being in charge of a giant blogging empire. But she's one of the people behind the new ABC series 'Freshman,' along with Greg Malins ('How I Met Your Mother'). The comedy will be set in Washington, D.C. and will be about three young politicians. I guess Huffington is going to produce a show about something she's familiar with, politics and Washington, D.C.

One of those three young politicians will be Sarah Chalke, formerly of 'Scrubs.' Can I tell you how embarrassed I was when 'Scrubs' started that I didn't realize that Chalke was the girl who took over in the role of Becky Conner (from Lecy Goranson, now called Alicia Goranson) on 'Roseanne' for a few seasons? Looking back now it's insanely obvious but I didn't make the connection until a few years after 'Scrubs' started.

Where Did the 'Office' Phrase "That's What She Said" Come From? (TVSquad) - 4 days ago
Of course, we know that 'The Office' didn't create that phrase. A lot of people have probably been using it for decades. But somebody had to start it right? Turns out it was created by Kim Marlowe of Long Beach, CA, as explained by this Funny or Die video.

I'm just glad Megan Mullally is doing things like this and not concentrating on getting all excited by fake butter. That's what she said! (Wait, not sure if that works...)

(FYI, despite the harshest words getting beeped, this video is still NSFW...)

Ellen DeGeneres newest American Idol judge

In September, she announced that she'd be joining the hit Fox show, and said she'd be a great judge "because I've spent my whole life being judged. So I know what it's like."

DeGeneres on Idol: I'll be a good judge because I've always been judged

Still, it looks like all you need to do to get through to the live competition is tell Ellen you love her. Check out her debut in the clip below and offer your thoughts on Ellen being a judge:

Drew Brees Has One Commercial That's Better Than Peyton Manning's (TVSquad) - 4 days ago
drew_brees_traffic_jam_ESPNWith the Super Bowl just a couple of days away, there's been tons of attention paid to both the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts players. And it's all justifiable. After all, they've made it to the ultimate NFL game. But when it comes to commercials, the king is most likely Peyton Manning. Whether it's "Cut that meat" or Sony TVs or licking the inside of Oreo cookies with his brother Eli, Peyton has the upper hand on the entire NFL in ads.

But wait, there is another quarterback in the Super Bowl, Drew Brees, and he has at least one commercial that ranks right up there with the funniest stuff either Manning has done. It was a 'This is SportsCenter' promotion for ESPN.

First look at Ellen DeGeneres on 'American Idol' (TVSquad) - 4 days ago
American Idol Season 9 Cast Photo
Last night, we just had our eighth audition episode of 'American Idol,' and I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm ready to get to Hollywood. As much as I enjoyed Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth, I'm also ready to see what Ellen DeGeneres is going to do in her new role as Idol's fourth judge.

Luckily, FOX has just released a promo for Hollywood week, which is next week. At that point, DeGeneres joins the judges table for the first time to whittle down the 181 people who received Golden Tickets to 24 semi-finalists. For those of you who have watched the show in previous seasons, you know it's not a quick process: these contestants will be performing over three nights, with the Top 24 not being revealed until Wednesday, February 17.

What Will Happen in the 'Heroes' Season (Series?) Finale? (TVSquad) - 5 days ago
Monday is the finale of 'Heroes' (coming early because there were no repeats). I say "finale" because NBC hasn't decided yet whether this will be a season finale or a series finale. Greg Grunberg says the episode ends in a cliffhanger so he thinks the show will be renewed.

What do you think will happen? From the preview it looks like Samuel is finally putting his plan into motion with Emma and Peter and Sylar (yes, Sylar) team up to stop him. Do you think this will be a season finale or a series finale, and what could the cliffhanger be? How will Noah and Claire get out of the buried van? Will Sylar turn good for good?

Why Does Bill O'Reilly Keep Trying to Out-Funny Jon Stewart? (TVSquad) - 5 days ago
Bill O'Reilly has been on top of the cable news heap for fourteen years now, and for a good reason: whether you agree or not with his politics or his interview style, the man does a great job of putting his interview subjects on the spot and making them squirm. And, let's face it: squirmy interviews make for compelling TV.

One thing O'Reilly doesn't have is a sense of humor. At all. He's just too intense of a personality who takes himself too seriously to be funny. But, for some reason, whenever he gets in Jon Stewart's presence either on 'The Daily Show' or his own 'The O'Reilly Factor,' he spends half the interview belittling 'TDS' and its audience and trying to keep up with Stewart joke-for-joke instead of interviewing him on substance. And it never, ever works.

Here's the first half of the first part of his interview with Stewart, which aired on the 'Factor' last night. The second half is after the jump.

'Days of Our Lives' Matriarch, Frances Reid, Dies At 95 (TVSquad) - 5 days ago
days_of_our_lives_frances_reid_macdonald_careyIf you've been a soap watcher, you've probably seen the work of Frances Reid. Best known as Alice Horton on 'Days of Our Lives,' Frances Reid died yesterday at the age of 95.

For more than 40 years, Frances was the matriarch of the Horton family, Grandma Alice, one the wisest, wittiest and most charming oldster on daytime. She was 'Days of Our Lives' Rock of Gibralter, her character was the center of her family, the heart that kept it all together even when bizarre circumstances threatened to tear the Hortons apart.

ABC's 'Happy Town' Slotted for Wednesdays Starting April 28 (TVSquad) - 5 days ago
ABC is shifting gears in their Wednesday, 10pm slot. They're going from a comedy about the fashion world to a serial killer thriller. 'Happy Town' is going to replace 'Ugly Betty' on April 28.

The question is, will 'Happy Town' be another 'Twin Peaks,' a spooky, moody drama set in a small town that got a cult following and remains popular today, or will it be 'Harper's Island,' which was a long mini-series that came and went and probably won't be remembered that much in 20 years. 'Happy Town' is also about a killer in a small town. It stars Sam Neill, Geoff Stults, Steven Weber, and Amy Acker.

The cast for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars won't be revealed until the March 1 finale of The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love, but RadarOnline.com is reporting that Baywatch alum Pamela Anderson has signed up to be on the show.

Kerr Smith on 'Life Unexpected': Ryan is the 'Smart Choice' (BuddyTV) - 5 days ago
life-unexpected-baze-ryan.JPG
It's shaping up to be a "classic" love triangle on Life Unexpected, as Cate (Shiri Appleby) comes in the middle of Guy with History - Baze (Kristoffer Polaha) and Guy from Present - Ryan (Kerr Smith). Add a daughter to the mix and you get a crazy scenario. As for Smith, he knows that for Cate, Ryan is the "smart choice," something that doesn't bode well for his character because as we all know, the girl always goes to the non-smart choice.

"Ryan's who she should be with," Smith insisted anyway to Starpulse. "He's the guy who's got it together with the career, and you know, he's the family man ... He's a truthful guy; he's an honest guy; and he's a committed guy, and I think you kind of have to be that to be in a relationship with Cate Cassidy."

Julie Benz on Kissing Dana on 'Desperate Housewives': 'Great Kisser!' (BuddyTV) - 5 days ago
dh-julie-benz-dana.jpg
This can very well be the case of making a mountain out of a molehill, but Desperate Housewives is sure milking this upcoming girl-to-girl kiss for what it's worth. For her part, Dexter grad Julie Benz tells X17online that she enjoyed kissing Dana Delany, who plays Katherine on the show.

"Dana's a great kisser," she says. "Joining the cast of Desperate Housewives has been nothing short of amazing. The girls are all so fun to work with and have welcomed me with open arms. I'm so thrilled that there is such a buzz about my character's relationship with Dana's. It's really beautiful and was so fun to shoot."
