Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • The last thing heard before the screen fades to black at the end is Billy the Kid's (Emilio Estevez) unique laugh. In Amadeus, the last thing heard before the screen fades to black is Mozart's (Tom Hulce) unique laugh.
  • Emilio Estevez originally approached Jon Bon Jovi to ask him for permission to include the song "Wanted Dead Or Alive" on the soundtrack. Bon Jovi didn't feel the songs lyrics were appropriate; however, he was inspired by the project and resolved to write a new song for the film that would be more in keeping with the period and setting. He quickly wrote the song "Blaze of Glory", and performed it on acoustic guitar in the New Mexico desert for Estevez and John Fusco.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the whore house scene where the towns people mistakenly shoot the sheriff, Billy explains in voice-over that he was blamed for that killing though he never even fired a shot. This is an error as Billy clearly fires the first shot as he pushes the sheriff out of the front door inciting the towns people to open fire on who they think is Chavez the Indian.
  • SPOILER: Doc Scurlock (played by Kiefer Sutherland) is shot in the chest as he is leaving the hideout. In reality, it was Charlie Bowdre who was killed in that fashion. The character of Charlie was killed off prematurely in Young Guns.
