Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Exterior shots of the Hudson house were filmed at 172 S. McCadden Pl. in Los Angeles. Right next door at 180 S. McCadden Pl. is the house Judy Garland lived in during production of The Wizard of Oz.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): After Jane kicks Blanche, Blanche falls and Jane walks around her to kick her again, but when she kicks her again, she is in the same position that she was when she first kicked her, obviously as she kicks her from the right side of the screen (she would be on the left side of the screen if she walked around her).
  • In addition to her trademark number "I've Written a Letter to Daddy", the young Baby Jane apparently had other hit songs in her act. When Edwin prepares to play the piano for their rehearsal, we see Jane's picture featured on old sheet music for songs entitled "Fly the Flag of Freedom", "She's Somebody's Little Girl", and "I Wouldn't Trade My Daddy".
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): Mrs. Bates pays her first visit to the Hudson home during early morning hours (Jane is fixing breakfast) but when she returns to her own home next door supposedly just minutes later, outdoor shadows indicate that hours have passed and it's now early-mid afternoon.
