This werewolf-themed horror film set in Victorian England centers on Lawrence Talbot, an American man who, upon a visit to London, gets bitten by a werewolf. Talbot had come to England to make amends with his estranged father, but after a moonlight transformation leaves him with a savage hunger for flesh, family harmony is the least of his worries.

SPOILER: In this film Lawrence (Benicio Del Toro) kills Sir John (Anthony Hopkins). In the original The Wolf Man Sir John (Claude Rains) kills Lawrence (Lon Chaney Jr.).
Was at first slated to hit cinemas in 2007, but difficulties to find a director made this release date impossible. Then a new release date was set for February 2009, then November 2009 and then finally February 2010.
Robert Rodriguez described the long hair Benicio Del Toro used to play Jackie Boy in Sin City as "Wolf Man hair".
When Rick Baker, who became a makeup artist because of films like The Wolf Man, heard that this film was being made he was working on the Universal film Norbit, he went into an executive's office to tell them he had to do the makeup.
