• During an interview with ESPN 'Lavar Arrington' (LB New York Giants) mentioned that in preparation for his role in the movie, Adam Sandler had visited him at Penn State to watch him practice.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): On the final play of the game, Bobby's team snaps the ball at midfield where he recovered the onside kick. The penalty for the late hit on Bobby have not been marked off. The announcers even mention that the Mud Dogs will not be kicking a field goal for the tie, but play to win. A field goal without the yardage from the penalty would have been in excess of 60 yards.
• This film is the highest grossing sports comedy of all time, while another Adam Sandler vehicle, The Longest Yard is the second highest grossing sports comedy of all time.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): Late in the Bourbon Bowl, the electronic scoreboard shows that the Mud Dogs have two timeouts left. Later in the same half, the scoreboard reads that the Mud Dogs have three timeouts left (which we know can't be right since we see the team call a time-out at least once earlier in the half).
