Movie Goof (continuity error): In the final confrontation with the Thing, Scotty is shown in the front line of the group with his camera raised to take a photo. In the next shot from behind, he is at the rear of the group.
James Arness reportedly regarded his role as so embarrassing that he didn't attend the premiere.
