• Movie Goof (errors in geography): As the president's motorcade is shown driving towards the Baltimore Forum - located in the inner harbor - we see a helicopter shot of the president's motorcade headed out of town on I-395 and turning east to go directly through the Ft. McHenry Tunnel, away from the inner harbor.
• When shooting at the desert locations, several Panavision cameras reportedly malfunctioned when the heat caused some of the internal parts to soften and fail.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): During the initial stages of the car explosion at the end of the movie, you clearly see another car parked in front with its hazard lights flashing, as if set off by the force of the bomb. Yet when the camera position moves back and you get a top down view of the burning car, this car has disappeared.
• Real U. S. Marines along with two Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters were used for the sequence of rescuing Fowler from the wrecked motorcade. The mission conducted by the Marines in this scene is what to expect when executing a TRAP (Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and/or Personnel). TRAP missions are most likely to be assigned to a Marine Expeditionary Unit. All Phil Alden Robinson had to do was point at the overturned limo and say "The President is in that car!"
