  • Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: The entire movie presents the wives as robotic clones, yet in the scene after Walter turns off the implant chips, the robot wives actually turn into human forms of the original wives.
  • Director Frank Oz considered the idea of filming cameos with actresses Katharine Ross and Paula Prentiss, who appeared in the original film. He voted against the idea, citing that it would disrupt the credibility of the film.
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): When the family is driving to Stepford, Pete says "But why are we moving?". Kimberly can be clearly seen mouthing his line before saying "to Conneticut?"
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): At the picnic, background actors change hairdos from shot to shot. They look different outside than when they are square dancing.
