Movie Trivia/Goofs

→ View All
  • Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise's high profile divorce was finalized the same week that The Others was released.
  • Movie Goof (crew or equipment visible): Grace says the house does not have electricity. However, when Anne is standing and reciting to her mother as punishment, the table to the left of Anne has a statue of a horse on it which is clearly backlit by the white light of an electric bulb. In the following shots as Anne and Grace argue about Anne's forgiveness, the light is gone.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): When Grace asks Anne about the "ghosts" who are running in the house, she puts her hands on Anne's head, in the next shot, Grace's hands are on the girl's neck.
  • The ghostly image appearing over Grace's shoulder resolves itself into a somber face in a painting on the wall. This image is actually a detail (specifically, a close-up of the Puritan man's face) of the 1855 Pre-Raphaelite painting "The Wounded Cavalier" by William Shakespeare Burton. The face of the painting is that of Eduardo Noriega (II).
