Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Emma Thompson, Glenn Close and Jessica Lange where considered for the role of Eleanor Shaw.
  • Tina Sinatra who was instrumental in deciding to remake the film, inherited the production rights from her father, Frank Sinatra who played Bennett Marco in the 1962 version.
  • Movie Goof (revealing mistake): SPOILER: During the candidate's victory speech, Marco's rifle is poked through the grill/grate in the balcony. At the angle shown for the gun, the scope's view would have been obstructed by the grill/grate. However when he is shown looking through the scope, he has a "clear" unobstructed view.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The length of Tom Jordan's paddle (it's too short for his height) and the way he paddles the kayak reveals that he's not an experienced kayaker as the movie states.
