The story revolves around three soldiers — Colee (Rachel McAdams), T.K. (Michael Pena) and Cheaver (Tim Robbins) — who return from the Iraq War after suffering injuries and learn that life has moved on without them. They end up on an unexpected road trip across the U.S.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

The drinks that Cheaver's wife offers Colee and T.K. are Coca-Colas.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When the bartender places the glass of tequila in front of T.K. at the airport bar, it is a little over half full. T.K. then takes a large swallow, almost emptying the glass. In the next shot, the glass is shown back on the bar and is even fuller than it was to when the bartender first set it down.
Colee talks of how T.K. and his fiancée should experiment sexually, 'by having another man with her while T.K. watches'. Later on in the film, Cheaver (accidentally) puts himself in exactly that position (having sex with a woman just as her husband enters the room).
Movie Goof (revealing mistake): The tornado that Colee and T.K. encounter is strong enough to blow whole bushes away, yet the car is undamaged.
