The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra

Movie (2001)

Remember the good old days when anyone with a camera and a few thousand bucks could schlep up to Bronson canyon and quickly make a cheap sci-fi/horror B-movie? Well, they're back! The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is an affectionate, meticulous re-creation of those notoriously cheesy clunkers, as a gaggle of beloved stereotypes pursue "that rarest of radioactive elements - atmospherium."

Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • To mimic the classic B&W look, they filmed in color using a miniDV camera and stripped the color in postproduction.
  • While most of the actors were experienced, some even having lots of credits on stage and film, they had to work hard to give an honest B movie performance.
  • Movie Goof (incorrectly regarded as a mistake): Most errors in continuity and acting are purposeful and are part of the gag in recreating the '50s B movie experience. For example during the cabin sequence, Dr. Fleming's jacket disappears between shots immediately after Ranger Brad arrives, Animala suddenly sprouting furry gloves without explanation during the last half of her appearance in the film, the visible wires on the Skeleton, and the shoes of the actor portraying the mutant during some of the walking scenes.
  • Sam Robards was originally to have played Kro-bar but had to drop out in order to appear in A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
