• Movie Goof (continuity error): Joaquin hides under the horse carriage to follow McGivens to where his men are unloading the explosives. In the next shot, Joaquin is not there, and when the carriage stops, he is there again.
• Adrian Alonso, who plays Joaquín, did not know English, so he learned all his lines phonetically, just as Antonio Banderas did for _Mambo Kings (1992)_.
• The locomotive used on the train at the end of the film was not actually capable of moving under its own power. The illusion of it pulling the train was created by alternately using an out-of-vision diesel locomotive to pull or push, a blue screen set up next to the steam locomotive with passing scenery added later, or an about 1/8 scale operable model of the train.
• Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The "R" sound in the word "Zorro" is pronounced as a hard, rolled "R". When Elena pronounces it, she pronounces it with a soft "R". A woman raised in Spain, as her character is, would definitely not pronounce it this way.
