The Lair of the White Worm

Movie (1988)

In a remote corner of England's Peak District, a mysterious skull is unearthed. But even weirder is that Lady Sylvia steals the skull for use in worshiping - very erotically - her pagan god, The White Worm, who hungers for the taste of virginal flesh.

  • The mouth of the White Worm (Dionin) seen in the tunnel towards the end of the movie was actually a painted over Volkswagen Beetle hood that bears an uncanny resemblance to the mouth of a snake.
  • According to an interview with Ken Russell in Fangoria Magazine spring 1988, Catherine Oxenberg got upset on location in the cave, when she lost one of her hand-muffs (i.e. hand warmers) during cold weather.
  • DIRCAMEO(Ken Russell): calls out "Hello, Mary," he walks by her farm at the beginning.
  • When PC Erny talks on the police radio, the voice on the other end is director Ken Russell.
