Movie (2007)

An alien lifeform, much like a fungus or spore, clings to the space shuttle Patriot as it crashes back to Earth, spreading tainted debris from Texas to Washington, D.C. Curious onlookers steal, touch and even sell the parts on eBay, much like what happened with the Columbia disaster. This in turn infects many people, robbing them of their emotions when they enter REM sleep.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

Movie Goof (anachronisms): The Nasa technicians use the Nasa red "worm" logo. This is no longer used by the agency, and has been replaced at Nasa by the original "meatball" logo.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Carol receives a call in Ben's Jaguar after escaping the pharmacy, we see the cellphone in the foot well; it's Carol's Nokia 'candy bar' shaped phone. However, she says "that's Ben's phone". Next, we see her talking into Ben's flip phone. For the rest of the scene, she's using her own Nokia phone.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Carol faints after hitting her car, her hair changes during the sequence.
Nicole Kidman was involved in an accident while riding with others in a picture car mounted on trailer being towed by a camera truck rig. While filming a stunt in downtown Los Angeles, the truck took a turn too wide, slid on wet pavement, and collided with a light standard. Several stunt artists on the picture car were injured in the accident. Ms. Kidman was brought to the hospital as a precaution, but was able to return to the set the next day.
