  • The spaceship fabric that can be seen in young Richard Brown's room is the same that one of the blankets is made from that older Richard wraps around him when he is ill.
  • Nicole Kidman learned to write with her right hand (Virginia Woolf was right-handed).
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): Prior to Clarissa's party setup there are plain-backed folding chairs stacked against wall near the front door. After the party has been setup all of the chairs have bamboo backs.
  • When the seating chart for Richard's party is shown, the name "Michael Cunningham" is in the middle. Michael Cunningham (III) wrote the novel upon which the movie is based.
