Bored with Bollywood movies but fascinated with their Hollywood counterparts from his youth, Ram dreams to become a singer and actor in America, the country where dreams are made. He is encouraged when his American-based close friend, Vijay Rao, comes for visit, and brags about driving a Mercedes and living in a penthouse.

Movie Trivia/Goofs

Movie Goof (continuity error): SPOILER: At the end of the movie, when Ramu and Sharonna are leaving the church, they switch sides - walking up the aisle inside the church, Sharonna is on the right, but when they emerge from the church, she is on the left.
Just before the birthday scene when Ramu arrives at Lexi's house we hear the party planner greet a couple as Mr. and Mrs. de Borman. John de Borman is the movie's director of photography.
During the early stages of writing the script, the writer wanted the character of Kitty to be Martha Stewart or Madonna. They would have played themselves had one of them been cast.
Movie Goof (continuity error): When Ramu plays Swami Bu at the party, he has a garland on. The red sections move up and down between shots.
