• Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) said he came up with the idea for his character to be such a huge Elvis fan, and suggested the idea to the writers, who loved it and added it to the script. Johnson later said that when they asked how he came up with the idea, Johnson responded that he is Elvis' biggest fan, and much of the Elvis memorabilia his character owns actually belongs to Johnson.
• Movie Goof (continuity error): When Peyton gives Joe the cookie in the car, the bites he takes out of it keep changing between shots.
• Movie Goof (factual errors): When the film opens, the football game being played is in the 4th quarter, but players' uniforms are still clean.
• Movie Goof (errors in geography): It looks like the same stadium is used for regular season games and the championship game, by the amount and location of wear on the field. You would think that a championship game in Arizona would have better looking striping, etc. than a regular season game near Boston.
